DescriptionLetter from Farrell, Dept. of Management and General Studies, College of Technology, Belfast, to Boyle, thanking Boyle for materials received relating to Special Powers Act and Resoration of Order Act and discussing his research on Northern Ireland in the early 1920s. Farrell goes on to discuss in detail items suchas "Things are distinctly grim here. . ." and mentions the shooting of Ronnie Bunting (formally of People's democracy) and his wife Suzanne, and other former People's Democracy leader who was shhot. Farrell continues: "There is a lot of tension here over the H-Block hunger strike as well. The British trick concession has only aggrivated the situation and greatly embittered the prisoners and thier relatives. . . it will be a long and bitter struggle. . . ". Farrell also mentions a new publication by P. Buckland based on now closed files at Public Record Office of Northern Ireland, (PRONI).
