| Description | The Republican Movement declared a cease-fire commencing on the 26th June 1972. It lasted until 9th July 1972 after a four hour gun battle between the Provisional I.R.A. and The British Army in Belfast left a number of people dead. During and a short time after the end of the cease fire representatives of the Republican Movement met with Representatives of The British Government. |
