Do I need to be a member of Sutton Library Service to view records at the
Local Studies & Archives Centre?
No, everyone is welcome to use the service free of charge although there are
charges for copies of material. If you wish to look at original records you will
be asked to provide one piece of identification on your first visit. We accept
the following forms of identification which must be valid: Sutton Library
Service, CARN, British Library and TNA tickets, Driver's Licence or current
Council Tax bill
Can I request archive material over the telephone or by e mail?
At the moment archives can only be ordered in person or by telephone, 24 hours
in advance. Messages including your phone number can be left on our voice mail.
Am I allowed to photocopy or photograph archives?
We don't allow the public to photocopy archives themselves but we will do it on
your behalf. Please ask for details when you visit. Photography is allowed
(without flash), subject to copyright restrictions. Details of all our charges

If I am unable to visit Sutton Local Studies & Archives Centre in person,
what other choices do I have?
We offer a fee paying research service - please email us for further details and
a quote. If material is suitable for copying we can copy it on your behalf,
subject to copyright restrictions and the appropriate fee being paid.
