Roald Dahl’s unique archive is housed at The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Roald's hometown of Great Missenden. It contains manuscripts, photographs, letters and mementos from Roald's eventful life. This is supplemented by over 200 objects from his famous Writing Hut, and an increasing collection of films, documentaries and books relating to his life and work. It provides the most comprehensive source for research on Roald Dahl in the world.

This database contains a full listing of Roald Dahl’s archive. Digital images of a growing number of letters, photographs and pages from his manuscripts are attached to many records too.

For researchers who wish to spend longer looking at Roald Dahl's archive, the Museum has a small Reading Room which is available for this purpose. We recommend that you first take a look at this Collections Database to establish what is available and identify what particular items you would like to look at.
